Sleep is Priceless

One of the most often asked questions by new mothers is, "When is my baby going to start sleeping through the night?"  Every baby is different.  What works for one baby, may not work for another.  Some babies begin sleeping through the night at 8 weeks old.  This is not true for the majority of babies.  Most babies need help learning to fall asleep and to put themselves back to sleep.

Sleep is a necessary function required to support all human life, growth, development and brain function.  Without proper sleep, side effects such as tantrums, irritability, poor eating habits, learning and developmental delays will present for children and adults.  Sleep deprivation does not just affect your baby, it affects the entire family and your quality of life.  It is very common  for babies to wake up after only 30-45 minutes of napping, especially when they are overtired.  Creating a suitable environment for your baby is essential in promoting healthy sleep.
